'ALL'
is the acronym for the Australasian Lettering Link and is an email
link between calligraphy societies around Australia and New Zealand.
'ALL' has a representative from most calligraphy societies and groups,
formal and informal in these areas.
|
The intention of ALL is to keep the channels
of communication open between societies. ALL helps in spreading
information by way of representatives, who pass on valuable information
to their respective committees and to publish for their members'
use in whatever way they see fit. Information such as planned workshops,
exhibitions, travellers to and fro, international and national events
such as the visit of the Book of Kells to Australia. We have representatives
from Tasmania, to Central Queensland, from Auckland to Perth.
|
ALL representatives are elected (they have
all volunteered so far) by their committee and can change according
to individual society's interests. It is a relaxed informal group
just intent on getting the messages through.
|
ALL is not an 'umbrella group', nor a chat
line, nor does ALL have a journal or newsletter. Many good strong
societies are already doing this throughout the country.
|
Canberra calligrapher Gemma Black set ALL
in motion in October 1998 after a mailing campaign to all known
clubs and societies around Australasia. We are always keen to pick
up other representatives for areas we do not cover. If your area,
club or society is not covered by the Australasian Lettering Link
then please make contact with us.
