Membership:
The Club welcomes all levels of calligraphic ability from beginners to advanced. Some of our members have taught at classes and workshops, while others use their lettering for alternative creative and hobby pursuits - there are always interesting people to talk with and learn from. |
Meetings:
The Club meeting content varies, with club and outside speakers contributing, calligraphic demonstrations, a 'show and tell' evening in February and a Christmas card swap in November. There's always a lot of friendly talk and swapping of information about materials and books that are available. We often club together to make bulk purchases of books and papers. |
|
Workshops:
The Club arranges weekend workshops with well qualified tutors, ranging from beginners to more advanced classes. Our members also travel to Auckland and Christchurch to take part in workshops, if there's something special being offered. A few of our members have also taken part in overseas workshops. |
Activities:
The Club's activities have ranged from supporting exhibitions in Wellington Central Library, creative envelope exchanges, tea-towel production and collaborative book projects, just to name a few. The letters on this page were taken from the tea-towel which was produced jointly with the Kapiti club |
|
Books
and Journals:
Hutt Calligraphers have gathered a wide range of books and journals from all around the world which are on display at every meeting and available for members to borrow. |
