Calligraphers of Kapiti

The alphabet shown here has been scribed by members of both Hutt Calligraphers and Calligraphers of Kapiti
as part of a very successful joint tea-towel project. The complete tea towel can be seen here

Calligraphers of Kapiti began in 2001 and we are happy to say we are now a settled, well established club with skilled and dedicated members.

Members who are supportive and caring of each other. One of the most valued aspects of our club is our sharing. We share all jobs and responsibilities amongst members, whether it be the chairing of the monthly meeting, the providing of supper, the tutoring of workshops or the general sharing of calligraphic activities, ideas and events. We have found this system has helped to make us a cohesive and cooperative group and it seems to work well for us.

We meet at 7pm on the third Thursday of the month from February to November at the Kapiti Uniting Parish Hall, 27 Raumati Road, Raumati Beach on the Kapiti Coast.

We hold four Saturday Workshops a year and these are always well attended. Our Newsletter is produced three to four times a year by an Editorial Committee with participation by all members for articles and items of interest.

We have also succeeded in raising funds for the club which enable us to buy materials and resources for workshop days.

We have asked Hutt Calligraphers to join us on several projects and their members are always welcome to join us on workshop days.

If you are holidaying on the Kapiti Coast please contact us, make time for a visit and remember to bring some of your calligraphy to share. ail
