Q. Which is the most popular size with individual papermakers?

A. The most popular one is the 1-1/4 lb. It makes 5 buckets of pulp
I can extend the tub at no extra cost to make this one a 2lb capacity (7 buckets) in one batch

Q. Can the smaller Critters process fabrics without problems?

A. ALL the machines are designed to handle cotton rag easily and of course are great for botanicals, linters etc. In the tests,

I cut the cotton sheet into 1" squares (1/2 inch for the smallest machine). roughly, with seams and all
After stirring for the first 10 mins the rags are disintegrating well and want to circulate strongly.
After 1/2 an hour there are no more recognisable pieces of rag and after two and a half hours there should be a good smooth pulp.
I raise the roll for the last five minutes of the beat to disperse any small beating knots.
It will also work as well for botanical papers, linters, abaca or recycling etc

Q. How can I tell which motor to buy for my Critter, and what sort of business do I buy it from?

A. You can get one from an electrical supply store, or off the web (in the USA) from www.grizzlyindustrial.com model G2528.a common 1/2hp. thermal overload (with a 1-1/2" pulley for a 1725rpm motor, 2" for a 1425rpm) clockwise rotating, foot mount etc.
